Inspiration comes from working hard and being focused

Updated: 4 days ago

For me, maintaining a regular work schedule, even when working from my basement studio, is all about discipline. It's easy to get distracted at home, which is a significant challenge—believe me, it is! First, I take a shower and change out of my pajamas, as if I'm heading out somewhere. It's essential to respect the daily routine, and this is what I must do without exceptions. Ideally, I work eight hours a day from Monday to Friday. Inspiration often emerges during this process, fueling my work. There's no better way to capture the magic of creativity and new ideas. It's incredible how it happens, almost like divine inspiration while you're working. There are days when I feel like giving up and being less strict, but I realize that discipline is the only way to achieve my goals. Discipline, routine, focus, and hard work.

This is one of several tables I use for my work. By several, I mean around six different ones. At the moment, I use this table to prepare my art prints on wood blocks, which are ready to hang without needing a frame. I usually create them in series. I cut the wood to 8x8 inches, sand it, paint the edges black, and attach a paper craft protector on the back where I typically name, date, and sign the piece. The final step is adding the metal hanger for hanging. During this process, I often enjoy watching a movie, listening to broadcasts, music, or documentaries, and sometimes I prefer an audiobook. I try to make the experience enjoyable most of the time.

This collection of four 12x12x2" acrylic-wrapped canvases draws inspiration from a series of artworks by Josef Albers, an artist from 1972, featured in the portfolio Formulation: Articulation. This remarkable series consists of 127 original silkscreens. The Hard Edge style in art is one of my favorites due to its simplicity and vivid colors.
